His clinical interests lie in minimally invasive approaches to urological malignancies, their incorporation into value-based care delivery models, and addressing socioeconomic disparities in the delivery of urological cancer care. Dr. Hwong received his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Brown University before earning his medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery internship at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and his urology residency at the Harvard Longwood Program in Urology. He subsequently relocated to the West coast to serve as clinical instructor and urologic oncology fellow at the UCLA Institute of Urologic Oncology. His contributions to the field of urology include numerous lectures, research publications, video abstracts, and textbook chapters.
